Michael is a postdoc at the Immigration Policy Lab, where he works on field experiments aimed at improving the quality of online discourse. He received his PhD in Political Science from University College London in 2025, having previously worked in the UK Treasury as a policy advisor and obtained a MSc in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics. His PhD research focused on the effects of protest on public discourse and public opinion and the tactical trade-offs faced by protest organizers, which he explored through a combination of survey experiments and large-scale computational text analysis.
