Laurenz Derksen is PhD student at the Public Policy Group and Immigration Policy Lab at ETH Zürich, where he contributes to projects on countering online hate speech and immigration policy.

He previously completed the Joint Master’s degree program in Comparative and International Studies (MACIS) at ETH and UZH. His Master’s thesis utilized experimental survey techniques to examine conditional popular support for democracy in Poland. Prior to his studies and work in Zürich, Laurenz worked as a Junior Key Account Manager at the German Development Agency’s (GIZ) Liaison Office to the EU and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University College Freiburg.
